Air India’s cargo journey began when JRD Tata flew a single-engine de Havilland Puss Moth carrying 55 pounds of mail on 15 October 1932. The inaugural flight of Tata Air Services set off from Karachi Drigh Road Aerodrome to Bombay via Ahmedabad. Air mail services was soon added on Karachi, Ahmedabad, Bellary, and Madras routes—and our continued growth over the years has made us the preferred air partner for India Post and customers worldwide.

We use HHT devices to scan all the mail bags which enables the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) system that allows for tracking the acceptance, departure, arrival, and delivery of air mail.
Yes, air mail gets high priority, subject to block space agreement.
You can ship any item that is permitted by local customs regulations through Air India Cargo’s Mail service.
